About Us
Two Hindi words ‘CHALE CHALO’ meaning ‘Let’s Move Forward’ represent a grassroots
development organization with a professional commitment. Established and registered
under the Indian Trust Act 1882 on April 21, 2005, CHALE CHALO has been working on
various developmental issues in Odisha, where communities face extreme poverty,
disasters, inequality, unsustainable practices, poor governance, and environmental
degradation—issues that threaten human survival and development.
Since its inception, CHALE CHALO has been committed to promoting inclusive, equitable,
just, and sustainable development. Our team comes from strong social initiative
backgrounds and is guided by principles such as self-regulation, democratic functioning,
non-violence, equality, and equal opportunity.
We emphasize respect for human values, dignity, and human rights. We are committed to
nature, caring, sharing, transparency, accountability, responsiveness, effectiveness,
and the adoption of best practices in all our work.
